چکیده

We present a methodology to address the general multiobjective (GMO) control problem involving the L1 norm, U2 norm, U, norm and time-domain constraint (TDC). We show that the problem resulted from imposing a regularizing condition always admits an optimal solution, and suboptimal solutions with performance arbitrarily close to the optimal cost can be obtained by constructing two sequences of finite dimensional convex optimization problems whose objective values converge to the optimum from below and above. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

Minimum Attention Controller Synthesis for Omega-Regular Objectives

A controller for a discrete game with ω-regular objectives requires attention if, intuitively, it requires measuring the state and switching from the current control action. Minimum attention controllers are preferable in modern shared implementations of cyber-physical systems because they produce the least burden on system resources such as processor time or communication bandwidth. We give al...

Incremental Design of a Power Transformer Station Controller Using a Controller Synthesis Methodology

ÐIn this paper, we describe the incremental specification of a power transformer station controller using a controller synthesis methodology. We specify the main requirements as simple properties, named control objectives, that the controlled plant has to satisfy. Then, using algebraic techniques, the controller is automatically derived from this set of control objectives. In our case, the plan...

Nonlinear H∞ Controller Synthesis for Flexible Joint Robots

In this paper the design of an optimal nonlinear H∞ controller for flexible joint robot (FJR) is presented. An approximate solution based on Taylor Series expansion is considered for the Hamilton-Jacobi-Isaac (HJI) inequality. A two-degree-of-freedom controller combined of optimal nonlinear H∞ controller and inverse dynamics controller is proposed to tackle the regulation as well as tracking pr...

Generalized l2 synthesis

A framework for optimal controller design with generalized l 2 objectives is presented. The allowable disturbances are constrained to be in a pre-speciied set; the design objective is to ensure that the resulting output errors do not belong to another pre-speciied set. The solution takes the form of an aane matrix inequality (AMI), which is both a necessary and suucient condition for the posed ...

A Guide to Design MIMO Controllers for Architectures

Adapting hardware components to achieve multiple design objectives is a challenging task because of many reasons. First, there are multiple objectives that could present opposing tradeoffs. These objectives or outputs could be of varying importance – some are more important than others. There are multiple reconfigurable parameters or inputs with different degrees of influence on the objectives,...
